Neff & Luke Chiropractic
My name is George Arthur Neff. I grew up in Marion, Iowa where I attended school k-12. While attending Marion High School I played a Besson Euphonium in band, I played football, wrestled, participated in track and played summer baseball. I also worked summers at Collins Radio in their summer help program. I graduated in 1964. Not sure of what I wanted to do, I went to Colorado State University in Fort Collins thinking I wanted to be a Forest Ranger. After a semester I decided it wasn't for me. I then went to work at Penick & Ford in Cedar Rapids until Area 10 Vocational Technical School(now Kirkwood Community College) opened the fall of 1965...I enrolled in Machine Tool Operation and earned a certificate in just that. While at Area 10 I decided I wanted to go on to college and become a shop teacher.
I attended Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, Mo. where I earned a B.S. and M.A. in Industrial Education. While at Kirksville I met my wife Barb on a blind date in the Fall of 1968 and then in December of 1969 we married. I was a teacher and coach for the next 8 years. Two years at North Linn Community Schools in Troy Mills, Iowa and six years at Rolla Community Schools in Rolla, Missouri. We are blessed with three wonderful children, a great daughter-in-law and an active grandson.
From Rolla we moved our mobile home and belongings to a park just south of Wentzville, Mo. which allowed Barb to drive to her new job at the O'Fallon School District and me to drive about the same distance to Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Mo. I graduated from Logan in September of 1981 with B.S. in Human Biology and Doctor of Chiropractic degrees. I began a practice in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in January of 1982. I was in solo practice until November of 1993 when I joined Chiropractic Health Care Associates.
After 16 years with CHCA I decided to go into solo practice again. This time with my wife Barb by my side, after she retired from the Cedar Rapids School District, we opened Neff Chiropractic on January 4, 2010.
